So, it's Christmas. It's finally here!
On one day of the year, the celebration of Jesus' birth is observed with joy, peace, and love... But why?
The reason why we are, or should be, so ecstatic about Christmas day is because of what Jesus coming into the world means. This exuberant day is a reminder of the miracle birth of the Savior of the World. When He came into this sinful, terrible world, it meant that we would be freed from the heavy punishment of our sin.
Giving His life as an ultimate sacrifice for our sins, Jesus became a mediator between God and us. This means that He made a way for us to directly communicate with our Heavenly father.
But Jesus didn't just die a simple death for us, no, He died the death set apart just for criminals- death on a cross. He had never done a thing wrong in His entire life, but still He was treated like a sinner and was killed for our sins.
Isaiah 53:5- He was pierced for our transgressions and punished for our sins, the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Because He gave His life for us, we are healed, free, and forgiven.
And then, after Jesus died, He miraculously rose from the dead, comquering sin and becoming the living Savior of the World.
