"God is greater than the ups and downs" doodle from 1 John 3:20

God is Great. Job 36:26- "Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted." It is so crucial for us as God's children to understand how great He is. But, as this verse says, we can never fully grasp how great He truly is. Just look around you if you want to get an idea of how great God is. His blessings and fingerprints are all over creation. God is Merciful. Deuteronomy 4:31- "For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath." The word merciful means to be full of compassion or kindness shown toward an offender. We are that offender that God is compassionate to. We don't deserve His love or His kindness, but being a merciful God, He forgives us anyways.EndFragment

God is Jealous. Exodus 34:14- "Don't worship any other god, for the LORD your God, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." Sometimes we tend to brush this command off, saying, "I don't worship any other gods". But in reality, anything that pulls us away from God and continously takes away from our time with God is an idol or a god. God has every right to be jealous of us spending more time with other things rather than Him. After all, He made us. He deserves our respect, time, love, and praise.

God is Eternal. Psalm 90:2- "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." Ever since the beginning of time, God has existed. This is one of those things that we will never fully understand, so until we meet the LORD and He gives us all the answers, we have to rely on His words and the faith He gives us. God will continue to exist for all eternity, reigning in Heaven.

God is Just. 2 Thessalonians 1:6- "God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you." Because God is a just God, He will repay everyone for what they have done. One day, we will all stand before Him and He will righteously judge us by what we have done. But if we have not pleased Him, we will not enter His eternal kingdom. Now some people think that if He is such a loving God, He would let everyone into His kingdom. However, if God did this, He would no longer be a just judge. Imagine if a murderer was proven guilty, and after the guilty person chewed out the judge, the judge brushed the offense off and let the murderer go free. What kind of judge would do that? God is just; He will let those who love Him into His kingdom, but those who have blasphemed Him will spend eternity in Hell.

God is Perfect. Psalm 18:30- "As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him." God has never, ever made a mistake. His plan is always perfect, and He always knows what is happening- everywhere. There is nothing that He does that is short of perfection.
