StartFragmentThis week, our nation was shocked with the news of a shooting at a college in Oregon. 10 people were killed, and 7 injured. When I heard about the shooting, I burst into tears. Why would someone do this? How could they place such a low value on human life? Witnesses said that the gunman was singling out Christians, asking if they were Christians and if they replied yes, they would be killed. This broke my heart. But yet it also showed the courage of these Christians who stood up for Jesus Christ. My first reaction to this was that I needed to pray. Pray for the families of those killed and for those who were injured. Also, please pray for peace for the witnesses for having to watching something so awful and horrifying. Then I thought, am I ready to die for my faith? Would I say yes if a gun was pointed at me, and I knew that I would die if I admitted to my faith in Jesus? It's really thought provoking, isn't it? It makes you wonder if your faith is really that strong. All I can think about is the fact that this is becoming more and more common. In the Middle East, Christians are being murdered daily. Daily. It's heart breaking. But are we ready to die for our faith? Am I ready to die?EndFragment
